MMORPG News: ArcheAge 2, Blade & Soul: Revolution, Dragon Hound, Project Gorgon & More!

ArcheAge 2, Blade & Soul: Revolution, Dragon Hound, Project Gorgon & More!

KurtzPel

Let’s start this off with KurtzPel.
A couple weeks ago I did a video on KurtzPel – and other than some bugs and balance issues, the game was quite a bit of fun. One thing worth noting was that the game’s voice overs – and there’s a lot of voice acting in the game, trust me, were still in Korean.
While not a huge issue, KOG Games have announced that they will be completely dubbing the game into English. Now, I love English dubs.
I’m a fan of some dubbed Anime like Code Geass, Death Note and all that goodness but when it comes to Korean MMO dubs.. if you’ve ever heard Aion or Black Desert.. yeah, I still barf a little in my mouth.
After hearing the dub myself, I can safely say.. it isn’t much better. But at least it’ll be much more immersive and make things a lot easier to understand.
The English dubs will be in-game when KurtzPel launches into Early Access later this year.

Aion

For people still actively playing Aion, Erehkigal’s Wrath – the games latest patch is hitting the live servers on March 27th.
This means players will be getting a new 18-player alliance encounter called Veilenthrone, a new arena and a new dungeon. Accompanying the patch are the usual class adjustments, bugfixes, and… you know.
Do note that this is for the North American version of Aion, not the European version published by Gameforge.

Age of Conan

For those of you under the impression that Age of Conan was dead.. well, you wouldn’t be wrong.
The game’s been in quite a stagnant state for years now, however, Funcom have addressed this by releasing a large new update containing a variety of features worth noting.
Most importantly is the new Unconquered mode – a game mode that has you level up a new character with the goal of getting as far as you can in-game without dying. The further you get, the more content you get through, the better the reward you receive.
If you end up succumbing to the sweet release of death, however, then fret not as your character doesn’t die – instead, you just forfeit any additional rewards.
This is a unique form of permadeath that is found in various games – and a fun little feature that could provide the low level areas a lot of new players.
Additionally, Funcom is allowing several new class and race combinations for players to play as. So, if you’ve ever been interested in Age of Conan – then I highly doubt there’s a better time to jump in and try the game out!

Albion Online

After spending its life as a buy to play title averaging roughly 400 concurrent players per day, Albion Online is finally transitioning to a free to play model on April 10th.
After their conversion, the game will be fully playable by anyone and everyone, imposing no restrictions onto free players.
Sandbox Interactive, the team behind Albion Online elaborated on the swap to a free model by stating that “Overall, the game is doing very well. We have a fully staffed development team of 35 people, just released our sixth major post-release update, and have a stable and growing player population.”
While I’m a little cautious of believing they have a “stable and growing player population,” the change to a free to play model will no doubt assist with that.
The cash shop and premium subscription will remain available, with current founders of the game, AKA, players who purchase before it goes free to play, receiving some special goodies.

Skyforge

Yes, we’re still getting Skyforge content! I honestly don’t know why since the playerbase for the game is.. well, to say there is one would be an overexaggeration.
Nevertheless, My.com announced that the game would be receiving another expansion called New Horizons. The expansion in question will mark a first for the game – with the introduction of a new, explorable planet called “Terra.”
New Horizons will be available for PC on April 9th, April 10th for PS4, and April 11th for Xbox One.

Era of Legends

For those of you interested in a first impressions look at Era of Legends – head on over to my mobile channel as I’ll have one up soon.
Era of Legends, for those of you unaware, is a recently released Mobile MMO that.. is pretty much like every other Mobile MMO, really, from first glance.
There isn’t much to really say about it as it doesn’t seem to bring anything innovative to the table but it’s worth noting that the game is available right now.. y’know, for those of you interested.

World of Warcraft

For players that don’t want to pay to play World of Warcraft – this is your chance! Blizzard are opening its gates, allowing any and all players to partake of the game and everything it has to offer over a free-weekend.
Every account, new and old will be able to log into the game, regardless of your level, and begin playing.
So if you’re a new player that has had reservations about purchasing it, or you’re an old player capped off at Legion content and want to experience Battle for Azeroth.. now’s your opportunity.
Every single player can play through Battle for Azeorth without the need to purchase the expansion!

Dragon Hound

Yes, I’m not leaving this until the end for a change! At the GPU Technology Conference this year, Nexon announced Dragon Hound, their new MMO will support real-time DirectX Raytracing effects.
Since then, Nvidia has posted a trailer for the game on their channel that actually showcases the various in-game reflections and shadows.
I’ll be the first to admit that it looks pretty sweet. While no confirmation has been given on whether this will be used in-game or merely for cinematics, we can be sure that it’s going to require a hell of a computer.
For those unaware of what Dragon Hound is, it’s an MMO being developed by DevCat, the team behind Mabinogi and Vindictus.
I’ve covered it in the past, but the game will feature huge battles on horseback, decked out with giant cannons that would cause PETA to.. Ahem.

Guardians of Ember

Guardians of Ember just went into Open Beta earlier this week. I had the opportunity to play it just as it launched, and I even did a video on it a couple days ago – you should check that out for my first impressions on it.
Regardless, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the game has released, but hopefully it is the last. Guardians of Ember is an isometric action MMO like MU Legends and Path of Exile.. but much more open. So. Yeah, it’s actually pretty fun.

Project Gorgon

Interestingly, Project Gorgon has avoided microtransactions up until this point.
However, fans of the game have been asking the team to release a cash shop – albeit a cash shop that doesn’t offer blatant pay to win.
Ask and ye shall receive – as the very first iteration of the Project Gorgon cash shop has been set up and it offers 3 different packages offering various goodies for players, which are actually very happy with the results.
The cash shop is filled with kickstarter-esque items that don’t grant any clear advantages and were actually asked for by players, so. Yeah. Awesome.
The only thing I’m puzzled by is the fact that they offer a mount and the riding skill, when you’re not capable of riding a mount yet. Iunno. I guess it’ll be in soon though?
Regardless, good job thus far!

XLGAMES

XLGAMES, the studio behind ArcheAge recently announced that they have begun recruiting for 2 new projects. P3, which is an upcoming Korean Action MMORPG, and P4, which is a normal Action RPG.
Both games will be built on Unreal Engine 4 and both will be released simultaneously on PC and consoles. They have yet to reveal anything additional on either game other than people applying need knowledge in RPG, FPS and MMORPGs.
So does this mean a potential sequel to ArcheAge? ArcheAge 2? Or rather, something completely new? We will definitely keep everyone updated!

Blade & Soul: Revolution

If you want to know whether or not Blade & Soul: Revolution will be worth playing as a game and how it compares to the PC Blade & Soul, make sure to subscribe to my mobile channel as I’ll have a first impressions of it up shortly after it releases!
Now, earlier this week, Netmarble revealed that Blade & Soul: Revolution – the upcoming Mobile MMORPG adaptation of Blade & Soul will be taking advantage of the power Unreal Engine 4 allows them.
Not only will they be adapting the game for mobile devices, but it’ll feature the same classes, costumes, and PvE and PvP features found in the PC title. To end things, they went ahead and revealed the official English logo for Blade & Soul: Revolution.

Platform: PC
PvP: 1v1, 3v3, 5v5 Arenas

Guardians of Ember Review – Is It Worth Playing?

I didn’t think I’d be doing another “first impressions” type video like I did with DK Online just last week but here we are – with Guardians of Ember.
Like DK Online, Guardians of Ember just released into open beta. Gameforge was kind enough to reach out to me before the open beta and live launch in an attempt to offer to sponsor a look at the game with early access – which is pretty cool.
I love getting the opportunity to play a game that’s getting ready to launch or has just recently launched as they’re normally the best times to get into them.
I didn’t know what to expect going into Guardians of Ember ’cause honestly, I didn’t do much research prior to downloading it. But I can definitely say that I was.. surprised.
The game offers 4 unique races: Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and.. lolis. There are 6 classes you can choose between upon selecting your race: Knight, Priest, Arcanist, Engineer, Ranger and Dark Knight.
I went Knight because I wanted to play tank for my wife who was going Priest.
Upon choosing my class, I was taken aback by how much customization there was for your character. Full body sliders that give you control over the entirety of your characters body, and there’s even more facial customization than there is body customization.
Combat was pretty simple: If you’ve ever played a top-down isometric MMORPG then you know what to expect.
It’s complete action combat – you can either use left-click or spacebar for normal attacks and right-click for a special attack, while mapping various skills to your keys.
Something that enhances the combat drastically is the skill system. It’s actually a pretty complex system, honestly.
You have a base selection of skills: Each time you upgrade them, they have the potential to go down a different path. As an example, my wife could take her initial heal down the damage path, turning it into a powerful DPS spell.
On the other side of the spectrum, she could take her DPS spells and turn them into powerful heals.
I had the option of turning skills into taunts or powerful AoEs… so being the tank, naturally I said “screw it” to the taunts and went full-on DPS.
My favorite skill, and what is probably my wife’s least favorite skill of mine was the ability to turn myself into a Beyblade. Whenever we fought I’d just.. Beyblade around singing along to the Beyblade theme song.
Seriously, I’d play this game just so I could spin into combat with other players screaming “LET IT RIIIIIP.” Ah, there goes my childhood.
Outside of traditional questing in the open world, quite a bit of the game takes place in dungeons. My wife loves dungeons so she had no issue with this.
There are 3 difficulty modes you can choose between, and each provides a significantly increased challenge.
All in all, I wasn’t sure what to expect out of Guardians of Ember.
I loved Diablo and Path of Exile but hated MU Legend. Thankfully, it seems as though this game is much more entertaining than the latter.
It has pretty entertaining combat, I like the fact that it’s got an open-world that I can play in alongside other players, and looks pretty good.
We only made it to level 10, but we have plans on doing one or two follow-up videos over the next couple weeks as it goes into open beta and launches officially.

MMORPG News: Peria Chronicles, Crowfall, Pagan Online, Guardians of Ember

Peria Chronicles, Crowfall, Pagan Online, Guardians of Ember, Ashes of Creation, Blade & Soul

Blade & Soul

If you thought Ashes of Creation focusing on the Apocalypse Battle Royale or Black Desert Online announcing their Shadow Arena Battle Royale were both exciting – then you’ll love this.
Blade & Soul is announcing their very own Shattered Isles Battle Royale as part of their Legacy of the Hongmoon Clan event. For everyone else that hates Battle Royale’s or having Battle Royale’s in MMOs.. this is only the beginning.
Blade & Soul’s update specifically increases the level cap up to level 60, introduces the new Lyn Warden at last, and adds in new class specializations.
So, lots to see and lots to do. My wife MrsStix and I are leveling through Blade & Soul to do a full review on the game up to this expansion in the next month or two. So get ready!
Quick note, if you want to see what the new Blade & Soul Mobile games are like, make sure you subscribe to our mobile channel MMOByte Mobile. We’ll have gameplay of it up as soon as it’s available!

Pagan Online

I’d covered Pagan Online once in the past when I made note of their server issues that all but shuttered their alpha test.
However, the team behind Pagan have made it clear that they are still very hard at work making all necessary adjustments and taking precautions to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future, going on to say that the game is still slated to launch later this year.
Cool. Especially since we need an alternative to Diablo.

Aion

Aion has a large new content patch coming on March 27th titled “Ereshkigal’s Wrath” – I hate that name, by the way, really difficult to pronounce. The update will bring with it new skills, transformations, instances and more.
Which would be pretty awesome and all if not for the fact that the game is in a constant state of decline. I mean just log in to the game and ask anyone how many issues there are with it.

Guardians of Ember

If you’re into failed MMOs relaunching, then you’ll love this. Gameforge, the team behind the upcoming re-release of Guardians of Ember have announced that it’s heading into open beta next week. And guess who’s gonna be there to do a video on it?
This guy! This guy right here! Players that played during the closed beta are being rewarded with special items for their service in testing the game out prior to its release.

Bless Unleashed

For those of you excited about Bless Unleashed, yes, all three of you, then you’ll no doubt revel in the news that the game is releasing this year.
In light of this, Bandai Namco have actually went ahead and showcased the various classes that’ll be playable when the game goes live.
Bandai Namco have neglected to mention Neowiz in any press blast since the initial negative reaction from fans, and this one was no different.
Meanwhile, back in Bless Online, people have shown growing doubt that Neowiz will fulfill their obligation to release the Mystic class as they had promised many a moon ago.
But.. what can you do. It’s what we get for trusting the company that failed their players several times in the past.
But hey, at least we have this on Xbox One now.

Diablo

This one is.. kind of relevant? But at the same time.. Well, y’know what, doesn’t matter at this point.
Blizzard, the company behind Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch and more have filed a new trademark on the Diablo name for “downloadable films and movies featuring narratives based on a video game and provided via a video-on-demand service.”
What does that jargon mean? That Blizzard have plans on adapting the Diablo franchise into either a movie or TV series.
Last year there were rumors about a potential Diablo TV series when Andrew Cosby, known for 2 Guns and the recent Hellboy movie Tweeted that he was in talks to be the showrunner for the series. He swiftly deleted that Tweet, but here we are, a year later.
If we’re lucky, we’ll actually be able to stream this from our phones. You know, ’cause we all have them.

RIFT

In RIFT news, Gamigo, the publisher that recently purchased rights to the game from Trion have announced that they are shutting down the RIFT Prime servers before they were even able to complete the full classic-server run.
Under Trion, RIFT made it through the very first of its three expansions, with plans of allowing players to continue to play through the game and each of its expansions slowly over time, similarly to how players did back when it launched.
But Gamigo being Gamigo.. yeah, nope. They gave a big middle finger to players paying to play the progression server as their small team isn’t capable of maintaining both the live RIFT and the Prime servers. Prime servers will shut down on March 31st.
I mean.. honestly, what did you expect though? Gamigo is an MMO graveyard. I wonder how long ArcheAge will last? Thank God for the ArcheRage private server.

Legends of Aria

Legends of Aria’s new community manager, Liz, has posted a large community update covering various things they’ve been hard at work on.
Major points of interest are: “reimagining of the death system, a new look at mounts, and changes to monster AI, coming soon to the Experimental Server.”
We’ll actually go ahead and include a link to the post in question that goes over the crafting, PvP, PvE, class, guild war and faction related features being worked on.
The testing server is expected to go live “soon”. Also worth noting is that the studio is hiring! If you want to contribute, then this might be your chance!

Path of Exile

PS4 gamers shall be shafted no longer! Path of Exile has an official arrival date for the PlayStation 4! March 26th. Not much in the way of details have been provided but this is good news! Mark your calender!

Outlaws of the Old West

I had no idea this was a thing until it was brought to my attention, honestly. Nevertheless, Snail Games, the people that ruined Dark & Light, Age of Wushu and Black Gold Online have launched their newest cash grab- I mean, title onto Steam.
Outlaws of the Old West has launched into Early Access to very mixed reviews. Because you know what? It’s buggy. Almost broken to the point of being unplayable.
But what did people expect? Instead of purchasing Early Access games then refunding the game and leaving a negative comment, let the company finish the game and release it.
Regardless, Outlaws of the Old West describes itself as a “massively multiplayer survival MMO” that offers players a “huge world, thousands of items, and a modular building system.”
It’s like Ark, Rust, Atlas and all the other survival games.. but with cowboys.

Crowfall

I don’t know how many times this game has been delayed, but after what seemed like an eternity, the team behind Crowfall are certain that they will be able to launch the game this year.
Yes, for fans of the Kickstarter-backed PvP MMORPG, this might be the year for you!

Ashes of Creation

So my last news video was filled with people asking when I was going to cover Ashes of Creation next.
Well, here we are. Last week, the team behind Ashes of Creation released quite a large Director’s Letter – via Discord, mind you.
Not social media – no updates through Twitter, no updates through Facebook.
In it they go on to state that they are still hard at work on the MMORPG – however, they are being forced to push back the release date for Alpha One to an.. undisclosed date.
However, and I quote here directly from Steven himself, in the meantime, they will be focused on fixing the backend, performance, optimization, and.. their continued efforts on modes like the Apocalypse Battle Royale.
It has also been almost 3 months now since their official forums went down with no word about when or even if it’ll come back, so other than Reddit, there is no real way of voicing displeasure with the situation we’re currently in.
It’s perfectly fine to have faith that we’ll still get the MMORPG but let’s be real here.. they announced that the Alpha One Phase 1 – which we now know is Apocalypse, was just a test for the MMO.
They went back on that pretty fast – turning the game into a complete standalone title and monetizing it via a cash shop. But, hey, according to Steven and the team.. it’s still all for testing purposes.
I’m sure I’ll get hate for talking about it in a negative light, but I’ve been calling this shit for a while now and more of the playerbase is catching on to how apparent their bullshit is and how important the Battle Royale is to them.

Peria Chronicles

We’ve all been waiting on news for Peria Chronicles. Legit, I don’t remember the last time we got anything in the way of information but finally, the wait is over… or I’d love to say that the wait is over.
Nexon recently previewed all of their games rolling out over the course of the year, and while they were all mobile titles.. there was one little interesting tidbit.
When Nexon were asked about Peria Chronicles, and other PC titles all together, Nexon replied that it might have an update to give on the 2nd or 3rd Special Day event in the future.
While this is in no way a confirmation that we’ll receive Peria Chronicles news at the aforementioned time, Nexon are definitely doing a good job of teasing it.
So it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer, but at least we have hope that they’ll shower us with news pertaining to its release!

No Role-Playing: Massively Multiplayer Online Games With No RPG Involved

Massively Multiplayer Online Games With No RPG Involved

We have taken quite a few good looks at the world of massively multiplayer role-playing games on the pages of this website – so why not break the cycle for a bit today, and leave the RPG behind? While most MMOs are role-playing games today, there are plenty of them that don’t involve role-playing in the gaming sense of the word. The MMO part in the acronym refers to their “massively multiplayer” nature, meaning that they can host masses of players on their servers. This is a much wider definition of the genre, involving everything from battle royale games, which have seen a massive increase in popularity since the meteoric rise of Fortnite, among others, to FPS games, racing titles, even casual games. Let’s see a few examples from each.

MMOFPS

The MMOFPS genre is pretty popular today, although not as popular than battle royale. The acronym covers first-person shooter games that can be played on servers by large numbers of players at the same time. The list of MMOFPS games is pretty short but some games have achieved some impressive feats. PlanetSide 2, for example, a game that ran between 2012 and 2015, recorded the biggest ever FPS multiplayer battle, with close to 1,200 players recorded in a single battle.
The list of notable MMOFPS games includes Hellgate: London, World War II Online, Dust 514, and Firefall.

MMORTS

The real-time strategy genre has lost a lot of its popularity recently but this didn’t stop it from becoming a massively multiplayer phenomenon. These also involve persistent online worlds “inhabited” by hundreds or even thousands of players simultaneously, usually focused on development and city building rather than battles. MMORTS games can be very diverse, covering everything from medieval times to mythology, space exploration, and, of course, warfare.
The list of notable MMOFPS games includes Dawn of Gods, Imperia Online, and Travian, with titles like Blitzkrieg 3, and Society in development.

Virtual Worlds

This is one category of MMO games that might become more proficient if virtual reality becomes mainstream. Virtual worlds go beyond video games in their purpose: they are a combination between social networks and games. They have vast open worlds that are inhabited by large numbers of members that can interact in a variety of ways, from chatting and playing to selling and buying virtual goods, even land. These virtual worlds don’t have a set objective, and lack a “manufactured conflict”.
The best-known and longest-running virtual world today is Second Life, launched in 2003 by Linden Lab, with close to 900,000 “residents” at the end of 2017, and Sansar, also one of Linden Lab’s projects, focused on virtual reality, social interaction, and the creation of spaces and items in 3D.

As we’re well aware, A:IR will release as a 100% free to play MMORPG with a fully-functional cash-shop introduced for players to waste money in.
We’re not privy at this point how pay to win that cash shop will end up being, if at all, but we can take solace in knowing that Playpark’s version will incude a cash shop with which to get a gauge ours off of.
This will end up providing us a small glimpse into what we can expect when it launches globally. Invites for the beta are being given out both from fan sites and the official A:IR website itself.
Confirmation on a Western release still eludes us, but a closed beta is hopefully still going to take place this year.

DK Online Review – Is It Worth Playing?

DK Online is a PvP oriented MMORPG that was re-released in March 2019. That’s pretty damn recent, and it’s done by Masangsoft as well, the team re-releasing RaiderZ. The game was originally released back in March 2012 and had over 50,000 concurrent players at its peak. That’s pretty huge!
700 is.. kinda disheartening to see then since that’s a fraction of its former glory, but oh well!
So the game has 5 races: Human, Elf, Gray Elf, Lycan, and the Diel. Unfortunately each race is actually gender locked. Instead of gender-locking classes, we have gender-locked races. Yup, races.
There are currently 4 classes in-game, the Paladin, Sorceress, Shadowmage and Warrior, with the Archer supposedly coming in the future sometime. Each race has a selection of classes made available to them, such as the Elf being the only race that can be a Sorceress.
This makes it difficult to play the race you want because let’s be real here.. my wife wanted to play the mage class of the game and was limited to only Elf. Yup, so that sucked.
Character creation though wasn’t half bad. You’re given a couple pre-determined faces, hairstyles, makeup options and facial accessories, but that’s about it.
While you’re very limited in what you can create, each race has their own unique options to choose between, and the characters actually look pretty good!
But holy shit make-up irked me. The facial accessories.. they moved whenever she blinked which made her look.. ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I couldn’t deal with that so I went accessory-less.
Then I begun my journey in the world of DK Online.. Or, I thought I was about to. My game crashed after selecting my character, which was great fun.
So, I booted it back up and jumped straight back in ’cause you know what? I’m not gonna let that stop me from playing the game!
But.. nope. Crashed again.
Apparently, to play DK Online you’re required to disable your antivirus or add it as an exception, allowing the game through your antivirus protection.
The combat, which I’m sure you’re all curious of is tab-target. No action combat here, nope! The combat is actually a little rough as well, and honestly the skill system really just.. confuses me a little bit.
Like, I’m aware you can learn skills but after hours of playing, I’d learned.. 1? I think it was 1. And the game didn’t go about explaining how to learn more.
But that’s just me. My wife who played sorcerer had learned 1 or 2 though they were learned via scrolls.. which I never obtained any of. So. Iunno.
The cash shop, though, holy fuck me sideways. The Blessed DK Special Package is 70 DOLLARS. And all it does is give you, in essence, what most free to play MMOs would refer to as a “VIP membership” that lasts 30 days.
THIRTY DAYS. You have to pay $70 EVERY THIRTY DAYS to retain your VIP membership. To put this into perspective, Blade & Soul, TERA, Black Desert, Elder Scrolls Online.. so many MMORPGs have VIP memberships for around $15 per month.
So SEVENTY? Are you kidding me? What the fuck were these guys smoking and has anyone actually paid for that? ’cause the thought that people would is inane.
But I mean it’s your money, so if you wanna spend it, go right ahead. I just think it’s discouraging to know that they gate things like that behind such a large pay-wall.
Unfortunately nobody I met while running around was uh.. sociable. Or spoke English.
That was a pretty sizeable issue as well. So many Korean’s in the game – and while I have no issue with them personally, when the majority of players are Korean.. why are we playing again?
I don’t speak Korean so the language barrier was a huge issue.
The town is very alive with players. From what I could tell, the vast majority of them crowded around whatever the first town was called. New players were spawning in every other minute and.. honestly, that’s refreshing to see.
Questing seemed about what you’d expect from the game..
Well, at least for the first hour or two. After that, there was a drastic change in how long quests took as we jumped from requiring 5-10 monsters killed per quest or 3-5 items looted to 30-50 monsters killed and 30 items looted with less than a 50% drop rate..
So you can imagine how old that gets. Real fast. Judging by that, at only level 12, it’s safe to assume that the game is a Korean grinder, requiring you grind more than quest.
Which is fine – I mean there’s a niche for that, but I’ve always hated grinding the same monsters over and over, and when wandering around.. I came to the realization that everyone I saw was grinding as opposed to questing.
And while they were more than willing to party up to make things easier, after we finally completed our objectives, we’d leave and most of them would remain, continuing to grind pretty much.. indefinitely.
We partied with someone in the same area as us when we were level 13 and they were level 18. Which is insane because you get like.. 10% XP per quest completion, and 1% XP every 3 kills.
Overall, I can say.. the game is definitely not for me.
I can’t comment on whether it’s pay to win or not at this point, but that huge $70 per month investment is just.. a huge nope for me. That’s a red flag if I ever saw one.
The combat is very unrefined, especially with it releasing in 2012.
Graphically.. I mean the character models look alright, nothing compared to MMORPGs like TERA or Blade & Soul which launched in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
Ultimately, the grind turned me off, lack of explanation of in-game mechanics made it more difficult than it should’ve been, and the large majority of the playerbase being Korean really made it hard to communicate with anyone.
This is one of the few MMORPGs I would not recommend to someone looking to play something new. It looks old, it feels old, and grinding is a chore.
But hey, at the very least it’s got a more active population than Bless Online. Well, for a couple weeks, anyway.
